A round gas duct tee is needed to connect a round pipe branch of a gas duct (or vent pipe) to the main round duct of the gas duct (or vent pipe).
-
Tees must comply with standards and can be of two types:
- 1) the diameter of the branch is less than the diameter of the header;
- 2) the diameter of the branch is equal to the diameter of the header;
When designing non-standards large diameter tees, it is necessary to calculate the trajectory along which the junction between the duct branch and the duct header will pass. The developed lateral surface (trajectory) is cut out on a steel sheet, and then the sheet is rolled into a round pipe. The resulting duct branch is attached to the round duct and welded.
The program on this page of the site will computate the lateral surface of the branch of the straight equal round tee. The diameter of the branch (fitting) of the tee is less than the diameter of the main line (header) of the tee.
